Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire, a quiet community within The West Island of Montreal is the home of a variety of small companies. It is the West Island, which is commonly referred to as being a distinct "island" west of Montreal by those who are not familiar with it, in reality encompasses everything to the west of Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to be a native of the West island, though her time there was brief. Brugel was raised in Courtice in the city of Oshawa, Ontario. Initial goals included becoming an experienced dancer. But, an increase rise meant that she had outgrown her dance partner. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted, "In heels at 6' 1 inch. Once I outgrew the male partners that I worked together, I made the decision to stop. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was the guidance of the drama teacher she had at her high school that led her to pursue the career path she needed. It was her teacher who encouraged her to try out for the role of Anne in their annual school production. She was suggested by her teacher to attempt to play a part in the annual school production. In the end, she was selected to portray Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theatre Program which she completed in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in art degree in fine arts.
